How to Play – QYRSQYRS Queen of Diamonds
QYRSQYRS Queen of Diamonds is played in fast, high-tension rounds where every decision matters.
At the start of each round, every player selects one card from their hand and places it face-down into the Treasure Chest. These hidden cards will only come into play at the very end of the round. The player to the left of the dealer leads by playing any card. All other players must follow the suit if possible. If they cannot, they may play any card or use a trump. Trump cards beat all other suits. Whoever wins a trick leads the next one. The player who wins the final trick also takes all cards from the Treasure Chest — and these hidden cards can completely change the outcome of the round.
👑 Queens = Trump
Only the Queens act as trumps.
Each Queen is tied to a gemstone suit and has a dual nature: They are powerful tactical tools — but also dangerous.
Winning tricks means collecting penalty points, so playing a Queen at the wrong time can be costly.
Many players choose to hide Queens in the Treasure Chest, protecting themselves from risk — or setting up a dramatic comeback.

Two legendary achievements give the game ist dramatic edge:
Flawless
If a player wins no tricks at all, all opponents must double their penalty points.
Grand
If a player wins every single trick, all opponents receive 500 penalty points.
These goals create constant tension: sometimes losing is winning — and sometimes everything is worth the risk.

The Core Dynamic
Every trick is a battle between three competing motivations: Winning now – securing the current trick
Avoiding later punishment – not being forced to take the hidden cards
Controlling the final trick – which unlocks the Treasure Chest
Because only the winner of the last trick receives the hidden cards, the entire round becomes a subtle war over who is forced to finish strong.
The Role of the Queens
The Queens act as powerful trump cards, but with a twist: They are double-edged weapons.
Playing a Queen can secure critical tricks — or it can trap a player into winning at the wrong moment and being punished with heavy negative points.
This creates a constant psychological tension: Do you use your Queen to seize control? Or hide it in the Treasure Chest to avoid risk?
Every Queen played reveals information, alters player behavior, and shifts alliances at the table.
Psychological Gameplay
QYRSQYRS is not just about cards — it is about reading people.

- Who is trying to avoid the last trick?
- Who is bluffing weakness?

QYRSQYRS celebrates its trade fair debut at the Nuremberg Toy Fair
The sophisticated 2-5 minute trick-taking game will be presented to the public for the first time in January 2026 at the International Game Inventors Convention 2026.
With QYRSQYRS (pronounced Kirskirs), Aachen-based game designer Harald Rosenbaum will present a new, elegant trick-taking game for 3–4 players aged 8 and up at the International Game Inventors Convention 2026 at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in January 2026, combining bluffing, risk and strategy into an intense gaming experience.
Each game lasts only 2–5 minutes, but in this short period of time, a fascinating mixture of tactics, surprise and emotion unfolds. Only the queens are trumps, and the mysterious treasure chest always brings a dose of uncertainty into play.

QUICK RULES
Objective
Each player plays for themselves, everyone against everyone. The goal is to collect as few points as possible, because all card values of won tricks count as minus points.
Setup
- With four players, each receives 8 cards.
- With three players, each receives 10 cards.
- In a three-player game, the dealer places 2 cards into the Treasure Chest.
- Each player additionally places one card face down into the Treasure Chest.
Gameplay
The player to the dealer’s left starts by playing any open card. All others must follow suit or trump if possible. If they cannot, they may discard or play a trump.
Special Results
Flawless: No tricks= all opponents double their penalty points.
Grand: All tricks= all opponents receive 500 penalty points.
Trump cards beat all other suits.
The winner of a trick leads the next one. The player who wins the last trick also receives the Treasure Chest – it can completely change the outcome.
Trump Hierarchy (strongest → weakest)
- Red – Red Diamond
- Black – Black Opal
- Blue – Blue Sapphire
- Green – Green Emerald
Because of their dual nature, Queens can provide advantage or pose a risk. They often determine victory or defeat. Queens are frequently placed into the Treasure Chest to avoid receiving minus points through risky play. Yet they may also lead to spectacular success – their timing is crucial. The Treasure Chest, filled with hidden cards from each player, adds uncertainty and tension. It is opened only by the player who wins the last trick – a climactic moment that can overturn the entire game
End of the Game
After the final round, each player counts their collected card values. Fewer points mean greater success.
